About Noun Therapy

An open space to share your experiences - the highs, lows and everything in between

A PERSON'S PLACE TO HEAL THINGSA PERSON'S PLACE TO HEAL THINGSA PERSON'S PLACE TO HEAL THINGSA PERSON'S PLACE TO HEAL THINGSA PERSON'S PLACE TO HEAL THINGS

At Noun Therapy, we want to break the mould of being overly clinical, and lead through human connection to support you through life’s challenges (alongside our evidence-based practices, of course!).

We want our practice to be a space where anyone feels safe and comfortable, no matter who they are or what they’ve been through. We would love to connect with you to determine who would be the best fit for you!

A note from our Founder, Amanda Gould

My name is Amanda, the owner of Noun Therapy, and I am so glad you found us. Trying to find a therapist that is the right fit for you or your relationship(s) can be challenging— I’ve been there and know the struggle!

Our intention for Noun Therapy is to be a place to heal the things that are keeping you stuck, out of balance or hurting by processing your internal world in an empowering and authentic way. Your therapist will come alongside you to support you in this healing journey. We look forward to connecting with you further!

Our values shape everything we do

HUmanity

We do this because we genuinely love love and have a passion for human connection. Our approach to therapy is one that values humanity above all. Of course, we’re professionals, but we’re also human. We’ll ride the wave with you, guide and support you at every turn.

Connection

We genuinely love getting to know each and every one of our clients, and helping heal the connections in their lives. We always allow a safe, open space to be seen and heard so that together we can work towards healing relationships.

Empowerment

Taking steps towards healing is incredibly brave. We know you want more for your life and your relationships. We will continue to empower you with the tools you need to reshape your conversations and make more decisions towards healing.

Diversity

We respect and celebrate that every person and circumstance is unique. Our diverse team of therapists are qualified to assist in any distress you are facing. We work hard to create a space where anyone feels safe and comfortable, no matter who you are or what you have been through.

How can we support you?

Therapy for Couples

Having a therapist come along side your relationship to help create a more secure bond can create lasting change.

Therapy for Individuals

Working together, we will explore the challenges that are impacting your well-being through individual therapy.

Relational Therapy

Relational therapy is similar to couples or family therapy, but for a variety of close relationships.

Finding the right therapist can be challenging. We offer a complimentary discovery call so that you can feel confident that you’re making the right choice for your healing journey.

Hi, I'm Monique

I am a therapist who is committed to providing you with a safe space where we can explore the factors that have shaped your current circumstances together.

Whether your story include trauma, anxiety, difficulties in managing low mood, interpersonal relationship challenges, struggles with eating disorders, a desire to explore your own identity, etc. my goal is to support you in healing wounds, learn supportive coping skills, better understand feelings, and unlearn the patterns that no longer serve you.

Drawing from different therapeutic orientations, I work to gain a holistic understanding of you. I tailor therapy to best meet your needs and goals by using modern psychodynamic approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and art therapy.

I speak Mandarin and English, which I can use in our sessions, and am passionate about creating an inclusive, anti-oppressive space. I work with a diverse client population and welcome all communities in my practice.

I am committed to building and maintaining the trust necessary to support this process. No matter where you are at, I see you and I encourage you to reach out to connect with me.

Hi, I'm Ariette Hung

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I am a clinical professional with a drive to provide compassionate care to individuals in the mental, spiritual, and emotional health space. The heart behind what I do is a desire to help people feel more empowered and equipped to navigate their inner turbulence and life’s challenges from mood disruptions to grief and loss to relationship stress.

Using Emotion-Focussed Individual Therapy (EFIT) and an integrative approach, my therapeutic approach is holistic, warm, and non-pathologizing. Drawing from therapeutic models and frameworks such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Family Systems Theory, I also help people change maladaptive patterns of relating, behaving, and thinking, so that they can feel more mentally and emotionally healthy and have better, more secure relationships with others. Upon request, I can also provide and integrate Christian-based counselling and spiritual direction.

As a Chinese-Canadian therapist, I am deeply passionate about helping children of immigrants heal from generational trauma and break cycles of dysfunction. I work with childhood trauma and ongoing family-centred issues such as navigating dysfunctional family relationships with emotionally immature, abusive or neglectful relatives and empower clients to do inner child work to help them heal the emotional and attachment wounds that keep them from thriving in their personal relationships.

Outside of my work, you’ll find me filling my bookshelves and reading, spending time with friends and family, enjoying art and culture, exploring cool places around Toronto, and finding cute dogs to pet!

To ensure your best care and right fit, please reach out for a complimentary, 15-minute consultation!
